I believe that the Disco Demolition was a religiously significant event.
Disco was a national embarrassment, by the time Steve Dahl buried it for good. Driven by television personalities, Disco had reached the limit of what the music could do, and what local television personalities could promote it to be.
Eventually Comiskey Park had to suffer from the cultural sins of the 70s media excesses. But what happened that day in 1979 was effectively the first flash mob in U.S. history.
I believe in miracles.
Steve happened along at the precisely perfect moment in history to bury this crap forever. And that was a miracle.

The Brothers Gibb blamed Steve Dahl for ending the Bee Gees careers.
Thanks, Steve!
